Let me rephrase...they have not looked at the vehicle control module since initial time they had the car. I even asked when it went back to the dealer and they said no. And of course the problem doesn't duplicate, its like it does it and when I kill the engine the computer resets itself.

Vehicle control modules are only used on trucks......are you talking about the computer in the car, the PCM, or are you talking about one of the many other modules in the car, EBCM, SDM, BCM, etc.
As far as modules go, all a tech can do, is try to communicate with the vehicle, and all it'* modules, and then see if there is a code is set.....if there was a problem with any of the modules, since the insurance company was paying, the dealership would not have hesitated to replace a bad one, if it found one.....
So maybe I am misunderstanding what you are talking about?
