Taking it apart was easy, now to put it back together.

It'* really not all that hard. Having the engine stand and the bracket I made, thanks to billboost for that idea, and a few tools, it'* rather a easy job. Get a trans service manual, big help there. Just wear rubber gloves and keep everything real clean. I plan to put this one back together, then rip it down again, and do this several times.

Not bad! I could give myself a new transmission, if I only I had the: space, stand, tools, manual, donor transmission, jack stands, lift…
Best of luck on your rebuild!

Dan, when you rebuild this trans, make sure that you tighten the clutch clearance in the 2nd and 3rd clutch. GM does not give a spec for this, but we use 1 or 2 oversized steels for the 2nd clutch and use a few early 440-T4 3rd clutches to tighten things up in the 3rd clutch.
