L67 / L36 timing set interchangeable?
Is the timing set (chain, gears, dampener) interchangeable between an L67 and an L36?

I was wondering about that...poking around the Rock Auto site looking at part numbers, all parts of the timing set were the same p/n between L36 and L67, except the cam gear.
95naSTA, would you happen to know how many degrees the L67 cam gear retards vs. the L36?

I remember it being talked about in a 'how far can I take the stock cam n/a' thread.

Wow... I wasn't aware of that. Thanks for the save, Mike!
Just for clarification... it'* still the same physical gear, right? Just has the "dot" on a different tooth? Not saying you should use it... just asking.
If you happened to use an L67 timing set it would benefit your top end power and overall peak power, as retarding the cam will shift the peak higher and further toward the upper RPM range. However, it would sacrifice some of your low end torque coming out of the hole.
