Spring time is coming, and I am looking forward to some new mods. I am getting a Flowmaster 80 series muffler really soon and after that I would like to get a smaller SC pulley. I know that with getting a smaller pulley, you stand the chance of getting some KR. What are some ways to reduce KR? I would like to have the full effect of the modifications with out having to deal with KR. I would appreciate any help here.

You need to keep the engine as cool as possible. Use no hotter than a 180* T-stat. Possibly drill some holes in it to keep the engine even cooler. You need a very free flowing intake, sealed off from engine bay heat. There isn't much more you can do to the exhaust, but you want to make it as free flowing as possible. You should get a high-flow cat. To keep the engine bay cooler, use header wrap over your manifolds, or even just your crossover, which runs right under the throttle body.
Those are some of the basics. If you go with a 2.2" pulley, you shouldn't have too much of a problem.

Alright, I already have a drilled 180 t-stat and a nice free flowing intake. So I should be pretty much set then. Where can I get some header wrap, are there any alternatives?

I just realized this. You could also run some Top Engine Clean or something like it through your engine. Any carbon buildup you have in there can surely contribute to KR. Get rid of that crud, and it might help a bit ... that is assuming you will have KR.
Perhaps there is a shop around your town that can do it. Do you know anyone with a scanner?

I'm not sure but I'm guessing one of my buddies does. His dad does a bunch of truck pulls (not sure if you guys have heard of this, if so, maybe you have heard of him.) He probablly will cause he does most of the work on his truck. Which has a 631 c.i.d. v-8. Makes a little over 1200 hp.

I'm running the 2.5 in my 95, and I have about 3* at the very top end of the gear, at like 4800 RPMS. All I have is the 180* T-Stat, Flow Master 80, TR-55 NGK plugs (One range colder,) Cold Air intake. So I think you should be alright with your mods to go to 2.2. Definantly do what Sol mentioned, go to GM and get a can of that GM Top Engine Cleaner. Carbon build up on valve'* and pistons create hot spots for preignition and then you get KR. You do that stuff, you should be in rather fine and dandy shape.
