she dont, but thats the only engine available for MY 2012-2013. only the new 14'* have the 4 turbo option. my mother is the stereo typical buyer for the impala if you know what i mean. she would much rather have something like the 3400-3500, proven reliable and fuel efficient. but when she was looking i told her to get a 10 or 11 with under 30k miles and she said she wanted the newer ones because she wants to drive it a while. i tried to tell her a couple years wont make that much difference. she has had her 03 for 8 or 9 yrs

the car is actually nicer than i thought it would be, the interior is like a dark gray, minimal use of chrome, way better center console. has two power ports in a big tray for phones and such and another power port in a big open under arm section. it has all the new menu and display stuff. the engine and trans feel just the same as my 3.5 in normal driving. you cant even feel a bunch of gears like alot of the other 6 speeds ive seen. she says the fuel economy is better so far compared to her 3.4 but her driving is all rural stop and go mostly no highway. she said she was getting 24 before and now 25.

only thing I can say is change oil every 3000 miles. dont ever go by oil life system, ....... and I think they are junk engines AND trans to begin with. I see too many come in and get warrantied. replacing components from timing chains, water pumps, heads, cranks, and pistons. And not all on same job. Wave plate in trans shatters in pieces, requirings complete overhaul and dropping from bottom of veh.

I'm impressed with the 3.6 in my SRX, even with the AWD it has pleanty of power and gets decent mileage. I know they had some timing chain issues but I believe they corrected the problem in 2110. Wife wants an escalade because she thinks the SRX looks too much like a station wagon.

As we speak there is a 2013 impala 3.6 in here because it spun a rod bearing, granted... it is a rental vehicle, but we had same problem in a 2010 camaro. Just my thoughts. I see what goes on and the problems these vehicles have and I can only recommend a 3.5 or 3.9 V6 or a V8 with-OUT cylinder deactivation. the 4.3 V6 is pretty solid too.
Yeah the Cadillacs require Mobil 1, and all GM 2011 and newer require Dexos synthetic blend oil. I just strongly reccommend to change oil and keep up with maintenance.
Side note 2014 trucks with certain engines require 0w-20 oil and take almost 9 quarts.

hopefully nothing happens to my moms 12 but i told her not to get it so if it does. she was talking about waiting for the oil light. she is still averaging one or two more mpg than her 3.4 imp which seems amazing to me.
