I don't remember what the feature is called but the headlights in my 99 SE come when the outside light gets dark enough. The only way to shut off the headlights and have the car running is to put it in park or nuetral.

I'd like to be able to have my car in drive without the day time running lights or headlights coming on unless I turn them on myself.

I was just wondering if anyelse had installed some sort of kill switch.

that is triggered by a switch on the shifter. I am not sure exactly how it works but at somepoint in the future I will be looking into it.

There is an article in Techinfo for disabling DRL.

that is one thing, it still doesn't allow you to control the lights.

there is an OFF for the twillight sentinel....along with the DRL disable you wont have any automatic lights at night

you HL wiring is different than 96-99. We can NOT turn off HL out of park at night.

If you turn them off in park, they pop right back on

yea it sucks, I would like to have an off switch, the drl thing is totally different.

Guys, is the twilight "defeat" that was available in the 92-95 part of the switch or some other internal wiring/circuitry....what would need to be "swapped" (if possible) to provide the 96-99 crowd the disabling feature?

hrmmmm..... do you guys have a dome override switch? i have noticed in my neighbors 2k bravada, that if you press the dome override button 4 times in a row, it disables the running lights and auto headlights. but it only works until you shut the vehicle off.
