I get more and more envious with each post.

Or maybe the word I'm looking for is jealousy? I don't know.. but great finds at the junk yard for that price. And the come along with the three idea is exactly what popped in my head when you said that. Except instead of a tree, I was thinking maybe one of those light poles at an abandoned parking lot.

I checked out another body shop and he said he could put it on the frame rack and pull it out easily for $125, but it wouldn't get done until Monday. I told him Jim'* idea of the come-along and asked him what he thought. He said if you can get it to work, its worth a shot! So, I rented a come along for $7 and drove around looking for a good spot to pull it, that the cops woudn't bother me. I found this place in a new subdivision with a curb and a telephone pole, perfect! This is my setup:

I used an old L67 engine lift bracket and bolted it to the radiator support and linked the come-along to that, and then other end stretched to the telephone pole, with not even 1/2" of slack. The body shop guy said it needed to be pulled out and up, so thats why I have the angle on there

It worked, pulled right out with hardly any effort!! True red-neck style!

That'* how the body shop in our little town does it.

The biggest trick is knowing just how far and at what angle to pull it.

And the Red neck bumper pulling award goes to........HARO.

7 bucks is better than 125

would have been funny if a cop pulled up.

I got a lot done today! Lets see, after I pulled the radiator support to its correct position, I was able to reinstall the front end.

Here you can see how the support really straightened out by pulling on it.

I ordered some ebay clear corners to replace both broken once since the yard wanted $25 each

then I got to work on my grill. I used the grill that was in excellent condition but missing the emblem, and stole the emblem from the other grill I picked up. I used some JB weld to stick it back on

I'm sure some people have never used JB weld, so I took pics
Here are the two chemicals before mixing them together

I am now on the hunt for a green door handle, this is the only one doing this

this is really tearing into me, its not that bad, but bad enough to look pretty ugly. The yard has a MINT trunk and spoiler off that SSE, but he needs $100 for it. Worth it?

Here are some more freebies from the yard today. I needed a new drivers taillight because after inspecting I found that all 3 posts had broken off and the original owner used drywall screws to attach the light directly from the body to the housing. I will be replacing it.

I also ordered some new Duplicolor spray tint for the rear tails to cover the delamination. My carquest didn't offer the VHT anymore and they said the Duplicolor is the exact same thing, so I'll give it a shot, its only $9

The mats are so clean they are going back in the trunk until everything dries out around here, its soo muddy

Side note: the hood is off an SE which has the hood spring connected to the hood, and the SSEi had the spring on the support, so now I have 2 springs. Let me tell you, when it pops the hood, it POPS the hood I dont think I am going to remove the 2nd spring
