Now I need some time to review them and get used to the format a bit...

He'* being honest on that one.
The first few pages say "we were partway through changing the format of these books, left things making little or no sense..then published them anyhow"

I got my new ones last week from Helm.
The set for the 1999 is cake to read compared to the ones I have for my 79 T/A. Those are in binder format...two of them. Each page references a page in the other manual. It can be a nightmare to find anything. But when you do, it'* priceless!

Actually guys...97 was a transistion year for the FSMS and they were 1/2 way through changing the style and how to find stuff. Stopped mid way and said..good luck.
That'* why Randy, Bob and I are always cursing our manuals. You will find it eventually by going page by page..but otherwise..things are painful.

Once you get the hang of 'em, the FSMs are fine....then, just when you think you have 'em figgered out, you go to look for something and it ends up being in an area you never would have expected. Quite entertaining and fun, actually....kind of like a find-a-word puzzle...LOL
