Well, I could afford it, but I could not have gotten financed on a car that was much more. In the end, I got the year Bonne I preferred, with my preferred ext/int. color and all options. It'* still 30,000 miles less than what is on my 94. And a HELUVA lot less rust underneath! LOL
Jim, I'd love me a set of GXPs.

Financing is supid. My roomate just got his 2000 GTP repo'd and still owes $11,000...its worth around $6000 and it costs $800 to get it out of repo....he is in a sticky situation and that is the last thing I'd like to see happen to you.
Wait till you get old or have a kickin' job to "loose" a lot of money in cars.
If the car was taken care of, it will last. If you take care of it, it will last. Just make sure you keep a $2000 budget laying around just in case it needs a major repair such as a motor or trans, not that it will, but its possible with any used car.
Start saving money now and you'll be able to afford a low miles G8 GT in a few years.

I am so freakin' jealous I just wet my pants! Nice buy. Purchasing a used car is always a gamble 'cause you never know what you're getting. Hopefully there are no dragons hiding in it, waiting to jump out & burn you. Even so, when you look at the price you paid, you have a little wiggle room if something goes south. I think the odds are in your favor.
As for the mileage...pht. As far as condition goes, I'd have stacked my 195k mile 93 SSE up against several of the 30 - 60k miles 03'* I've looked at. Low miles are desireable, but they're not a gaurantee that the car will be trouble-free or even make it to 108k.
Now, back to my own search for a mint, 100% loaded, 2003 SSEi in crimson tintcoat with grey interior and 23,000 miles for $9,950.

Hang in Stan.. MVB will be stopping by with spare diapers soon.
Crimson red huh..
Having looked over this car quickly..it appears solid and ready to go another 100K.

good luck finding a 2003 CT car....they only made that in 2004 and 2005, the 2003 was called Sport Red Metallic, and is not like the CT at all

So far this engine and trans seems good. I slapped a couple of my neodymium trans pan magnets on the 03 after I changed the oil...to synthetic of course.
The oil that came out...was Golden Brown! I expected it to be black. It looked PERFECTLY clean inside after I took the oil fill cap off. Of course that'* just a SMALL glimpse at the inside of the engine. But it gave me some hope that it was taken care of.
Oil pressure has been at 60, and seemed to creep up a bit higher at one point. It was close to 60 while idling in gear too. I have to get used to these gauges as they have many tiny hatch marks. But the engine runs well and accelerates just fine. I haven't driven it hard at all. I want to make sure things are all right with it. And I will do the tranny fluid/filter as soon as I get some money.
Stay tuned for pics. I took a ton today.
