dont do the car cover unless you have it glued to your car if you like your paint. 60mph wind will ruin the paint from flapping against it. if you do get a cover her a nice one whats lined with cotton. trust me. i got one of those cheap autozone/walmart ones and ruined the paint on my old neon in a bad windstorm. completely took the clear off. just up your insurance for a month

My only worry is that the old, half-dead tree sitting in saturated soil will tip over onto everyone'* cars. Nothing a little car cover can fix, though.

I'd just park the car away from trees. That'* what we did when preparing for a storm when I was kid. The driveway was under more giant walnut trees than you could count. Park them in the back yard where there a no trees, no problems.
Then we built the 2 car garage and didn't have to worry about it anymore.

We got an inch of rain with the first band to hit us (North PA) No wind. I think by the time it gets to you Colin it'* going to just be a soggy event. Put the money back in your wallet.

I like the way you think.
Yeah, it poured about mid-afternoon and flooded all the roads. My belt came off about four times on a 20-mile drive home while it dumped at least an inch of rain on us in about two hours. It'* been cloudy and clear ever since.
My client in NYC tells me it'* pouring there, so I'll get the real hurricane shortly.
