I would tend to agree with every other oil change because you are already there under the hood, but when I change the oil I really do not do anything that makes an air filter change any quicker to do.
And since an air filter really only picks up anything is when the car is being driven, and it does not normally degrade like oil sitting in an engine would, I cannot judge my filter changes by oil change, by miles maybe, but first I'd examine the filter by eye, and maybe get in a somewhat dark room, and try to shine a light through it, then if it looks dirty replace it.
I hate to waste money and change something just for the sake of changing it.

I change my every year after spring pollen dies down. they are not that expensive

Today in Napa Parking lot got to inspect & replace my engine air filter.
The center section where main intake air really flows through looked like this at 30k miles.
Not a lot of light shining through...YUK!

Here is new and old comparison...

I think I need to inspect more often & replace it every year by the looks of it.
Definitely not every 2+ years...
