Well mine is definitely a keeper. Shes got rust, sure, but mark my words. She will NEVER leave my posession. As soon as I get enough money up, no matter what other car I'm driving, she will be roadworthy.

Amazing quality car it is. Never left me stranded, only not started once, replaced the starter and I was back in business.

When I have time and money, I will tear her completely apart and rebuild her 100%. Everything will look like she just came out of the showroom, and after I do that, she will be kept in a garage at all times and only driven on clear summer days.

There are still cars on the road from the 50s, why should ours be any different?

I hear ya wjcollier07, the only problem with me is that I ended up getting a newer year Bonne for less than what it would cost to bring the 90 back in great shape so I think the 90 is going to retire when the plates are up. I figured if I just let her go with out really putting money into her she would have lasted another couple of years, but I'd rather put money into the 95 since I'd like her to last longer than that.

Default another ontario sse!

here around peterborough i funnily enough see more sse'* from 87-91 than regular bonnevilles! there has to be 4 or 5 running around including mine and i've only seen a couple of the others, both of which look like they are not long for this world. one of the sse'* looks like its seen a couple of wars but the others (mine included!) look pretty darn good!

none in the wreckers tho. the only yard i knew that had one just closed this summer.

yeah, but even if she turns south...doesn't mean i won't keep er until I have more money to put her back on there. As soon as I learn how to do all different kinds of body work and welding, etc, thats when i will make sure she will never be scrapped. the only thing i cannot predict is if some $HITHEAD decides to smash into me....oh ho ho, watch the fireworks go down...if the accident doesn't kill em, they better be worrying about me comin for em.

Can you tell I like my car? hah

but I DEFINITELY will end up getting a newer bonne, but its gonna be an SSEi. Not getting any bonne until I have enough for a 2000+ SSEi.

I 2nd that emotion wjcollier07! I'm getting ready to smooth out a dented door and a small wrinkle in the hood. Then I think I'll paint her myself. She'* going to be mine forever and always, may as well put in my own time and effort!(Unless I really screw it up and then I'll have noone else to blame!)

I hear ya man. Trouble is, these are unibody cars. They rely on the entire car for strength. 50'* full framed cars are much, much easier to repair, than our cars. The only frame our cars have that could be repairable or replaceable, is the front subframe. Otherwise, once the rear end starts rotting, she'* gone. You could find yourself another one of these cars in probably better condition if you were looking, and be able to take real good care of the rusties.

One real sure-footed way to ensure our cars don't hit the scrap yard, is a good undercoating, everywheres. One even better insurance is to NOT drive the car in winter. you go down south, and you'll see many cars like ours, and there are literally tons that have barley any rust on them, and have high miles.

Anyways, yeah, wish we didn't have to contend with mother nature with the rusties, and whatnot.

This topic is a good example of a topic in the wrong spot. 87-91 is for mechanical issues. This is a good topic for General Chat.
