Hmm...Bra-less???
Along with my tails and headlight question, I've been thinking about losing the bra. It'* not the correct one anyway, as it covers my headlight washers. Whattaya think o' dat?!?!

Take it off...and make sure the paint is ok under there. If you want an option to protect the hood from chips etc. There is an acrylic product (clear) that you have placed on the hood and headlamps, we did it to the Jetta VR6, my Bonneville (Lamps only) and I plan on Shieldpro"ing" the Aurora

The only thing that would hold me back right now is that the grille is missing. Where can I get one, hopefully a silver one (to match my wheels) to put in? Prolly just go to a junkyard, get one and paint the sucker.

I have a bra on a 90 Daytona. Left it on over the winter one time without washing under neath it for about 6 months. BIG MISTAKE! They may look nice when they are on, but you have to commit to keeping it on or taking it off every month or so to make sure no rocks or rocksalt or road dirt get under it to ruin the paint. Also, found that the paint began to not match between the covered and uncovered areas - lack of sun (or should I say the presence of sunshine) tends to do that. Subtle, yet noticeable changes. So, as an old fart of 47, I say - TAKE IT OFF!!

I think that if well maintained the bra is good since it will protect the paint.
But I personally would take it off. I never really liked the look of the full bra that much, not just on Bonnes but on a lot of cars. Some cars they just don't fit well at all, and/or the people don't know how to install them. And I don't like the idea of covering all the gorgeous paint!
I'd definitely do the acrylic shielding that Jim was talking about. It'* invisible (when the car is dirty you an see the edge of it a little) and will not harm the paint like a bra could.
Or just put on a hood protector bra. I like the look of that better than the full one.

I'm partial to the hood protector bra as well. If properly cared for (good wax underneath, and cleaned regularly), they cause no damage, and prevent alot of chips.
