I probably have more experience with SI L67 cars then half teh SI L67 owners on here. Just 'cause I haven't owned one doens't mean anything.
He might be a good mechanic, but when has he been wrenching under a S1?
I had taken my car to many shops trying to figure out why my car was shredding belts. They replaced damn near every pully on the car, but it wasn't until WCBF when we discoverd that it was a gatorback belt that was the wrong size
What I'm trying to get at, is you don't have any grounds to stand on if you don't have the actual experience to back it up...

Ok, Shawn'* mechanical reputation carries more weight in the predicted potential perfomance of a S1 L67 that he has no personal experience with, than the wrenches, gearheads, track hounds, and other members on the West Coast that HAVE experience with it?
I also have quite a bit of track experience since I typically see a track at least once a month, usually twice or more. I've seen my fair share of SI L67 cars run as well as well as just about any other kind of car you can think of.
The MAIN point I was making in my post is that you said you car is a 13 second car, and there is no way in my mind that I can find a way for that car at that weight with that power to even come close to 13'*. I know you say that technically you didn't actually say it, but you are boasting that others said it was that fast, which to me translates into you saying its that quck. Its not that fast till I see the slip.
I guess the biggest point to make here (in my mind anyway) is this:
At some point in a discussion or debate, you have to ask yourself if your opinion might be a bit off when those with experience say otherwise
It'* called being objective and open-minded.

You see, I was IN my car when I beat the modified S2'* to the 1/8. I'm pretty sure myself and the other 11 members of this Forum that saw it weren't daydreaming.
Well, you'd kinda think that the 18 members of this Forum that attended WCBF06 and witnessed it would carry SOME credibility, wouldn't you? So I guess in that regard, there probably should be a LITTLE head nodding?
But calling foul on a subject you have no personal experience with? Over the claims of those that actually HAVE personal experience with it? That'* where we go foul.

Shawn, STFU. Simply.
11 CARS ran at Woodburn. 18 MEMBERS attended.
(but I'm changing the story, and nobody that attended WCBF06 will correct me on any of this, because it'* all a big conspiracy, and they're all sworn to lie on my behalf).

Okay, time out.
I'm always amazed at how heated these things get. You're all passionate about your vehicles; that'* fantastic. Some people struggle through their entire lives to find something to be passionate about.
What'* not so great are these flame wars. Too often these things turn into arguments about beliefs, and we all know how hard it is to change another person'* beliefs. Each side of any debate about a belief is always able to find facts to support their position; likewise, each side is always able to find the holes in the other'* arguments.
I'm locking the thread. Debate is good, but this thread has devolved past the point of being productive. This isn't an affront to anybody; it'* just a chance to let things cool down.
