Does anyone know why this car never came about? I guess they just settled for the GTP. If you can find out what parts you need to make this 300HP production engine. Check out this site, the article is from 1995 http://www.grandprix.net/limited/gpx_article.html

What I was eluding to is the fact that there may be parts you can buy straight from the dealer. Kind of like matching parts of small block chevy'* to acheive what you want.
Any way it sounds as if you've got everything under control. Are you able to get parts through Summit Racing for your engine?

Yes, that is an awesome car! I have always loved that car. The wheels and wider fenders along with the ram air hood and that color just make the car stand out! Do you want to know why they never made that car? Tranny problems. The same reason they program torque management into the engine now. From what I've been told, the only difference between that engine and the L67'* in them now is that has an intercooler and a smaller pulley (and the ram air). Just think, if you bought a GTP and dumped $1200 into an intercooler, $66 into a pulley, and $700 into a hood, your car would look suprisingly similar to that one. Then you just get it painted that color and find those wheels and exhaust tips and the only appearance difference would be the fender flares. The interior obviously would be quite different though. It would be quite a project to make a clone, but if I had the cash I would. (only I think my engine would be making a couple more horsepower)
