Yeah i have a friend with a 92 5.0 Mustang and it wasn't very impressive (for being a 5 liter engine) ..and then he stripped the resonators and got dual magnaflows and an intake...and that car is one of the nicest sounding cars i've ever heard..its just music to my ears when he rev'* his engine in high RPM'*.

I've owned both SC(95) and V-8(92) Thunderbirds. The V-8 was a 5.0 HO the same as the 94-95 Mustang GT but rated 5 hp less at 205 due to restrictive exchaust. The SC was rated at 230 hp and 330 lbs of torque. Earlier SC'* had 210 hp but the 94-95 had a different supercharger and I can't remember what else.

A properly done exhaust including high flow cat and upgraded muffler can add about 10HP, I have seen stats for chips that deliver in the neighbourhood of 20 (give or take)
So high end 30 HP more...and probably 35 ft'lbs of tq :?

Hmmm, not necessarily, pretty evenly matched cars. I guess it could be condtion of the car, and weight, driver skills (not suggesting you are a bad driver) hard to tell...you might get him next time

So, he had me on hp, but I out-torqued him...should I have won?!?
You know what your acceleration is like when you are carrying a couple of passengers compared to when you are driving alone.
If only there was an easy way to shed about 300 lbs.
It was easy to do with my Firebird. I shed almost that much weight since it was new. Major affect on handling and acceleration, not to mention braking.
Don't forget that there are some trade offs for heavy luxury items.
