the tires i have are 255/50-17 and they fit just fine on the stock 17" rims.

Michelins are sticky tires from what i've heard. I have BFG'* and I can light em up like no tomarrow. They are half worn in only 15K. 
They are good in water though. Hydroplaning never happens.
