Don't worry about the flaky electronics in the dash; we get rather good at rebuilding those around here. I'd be more concerned about the quality of whatever repairs it'* already had. (e.g. Do they say, "I just had the (whatever) replaced," or do they say, "Somethin' weird was makin' a funny noise so I just disconnected (whatever) 'cuz you really don't need it...") Good luck!

It may be a bit hard to get a carfax report on it if he is driving there with cash in hand when he looks at it, hehe. Unless he can borrow a computer and has a carfax account.

What a damned dissapointment. To think some people can't even advertise there vehicles correclty. We get there after 2 hours of driving, the guys son wasnt there yet to let us look at it. So, me and my dad looked the car over on the outside and through the windows. The exterior is MINT, the interior is MINT. It runs great, drives nice. ONE KICKER. Its advertised for 149,000 kms, when i got in the back seat while it was running i got a full view look at the odometer, it was compleat dejaview. 249,840kms. That almost made me snap right there. We took it out, me, my dad, and the kid. We tried to get it inspected at Canadian Tire, they were too packed, then right next door at Speedy was just closing. The car wouldn't start for us after that, the battery was dead, it just clicked. My aunts 86 Nissan Multi had no hope of starting it, so we ran across a small alley, and a guy from Mr. Lube boosted us with his Grand Prix. Very dissapointing day. VERY

Oh, well, better luck next time. I know sometimes I wish I had a car that bad, just for the satisfaction of fixing the stuff and seeing it get better (and eventually re-sold at a profit) as a result...
