Default GM Tech II Problem

I have had a GM Tech II for years and years with no problems, but in recent months it shows, "No Candi Module Detected" when the module is connected and the green light is flashing...... after re-start for a long period of time it will finally work....... is there a way to remedy this situation??

Is this a genuine TechII or a cheap knockoff?

If genuine, when was the last time you updated it?

It was a birthday present long long ago.... I have had no problems with it until just recently.... I have never updated it and did not see the need as it was working fine for me.

Without a subscription from GM, you can't update it. And I hear those subscriptions are fairly expensive.

I'm surprised Carfixer hasn't chimed in yet.

Do you have the flash file for the version you are running? If not, you would likely need to update it to fix your issue. Your file system may be getting to fraged to work right.

We also had issues with cables. Shop always keeps extra cables and connectors for all the tech 2,MDI'*,and MDI 2'*. Just something to keep in mind.
