I've got the "new" cluster'* P/N as 25088838. Here'* what I got so far:
Cluster Production P/N 25088838 - 1989 H BODY; W/CNSL (D55); GA (U50); DIAGNOSTIC (UW1); (EXC U12 EXPORT); CLUSTER (OIL/COOLANT TEMP/VOLT/TACH/TRIP ODOMETER) (UB3)
In everyday language this means that this cluster works for a 89 Bonneville with floor shift and that has the above mentioned guages (Oil/Coolant Temp/Volt/Tach/Trip Odometer). Don't get discouraged yet as I still haven't checked your present cluster against it since I don't have that P/N yet from you!!!!!! ***HINT***

i jsut got home and i found this # (25531940) on a yellow sticker under my hood. im not sure if its the right number but i said what the hell its the only 8 digit # iv seen so far.
if its not the right # is there annother place where i can find this # other than on the back of dash. taking my screws off is a pain in the *** (a little stripped).

Cluster Production P/N 25080463 - 1988 H BODY; (EXC CNSL D55; DIAGNOSTIC UW1; U12 EXPORT; U18 EXPORT; GA U50)
But this "new" one is:
Cluster Production P/N 25088838 - 1989 H BODY; W/CNSL (D55); GA (U50); DIAGNOSTIC (UW1); (EXC U12 EXPORT); CLUSTER (OIL/COOLANT TEMP/VOLT/TACH/TRIP ODOMETER) (UB3)
Unfortunately these 2 clusters are not compatable! You must find a cluster out of a car with column shift like your has. Plus the cluster must have the same cluster display as your car has. BTW: if your interested I'm on my second cluster for my car! I learned on my own how to "adjust" the odometer since this cluster'* odometer & tripometer went out. Instead of paying upwards of $650.00 CDN for a new cluster I went out to find the parts I needed to fix my existing cluster.

looks like i have some fun for saturday. there was a cluster just like this one with a column shift. i was going to take that one but i couldt get the screws loose. that reminds me, my tourqe wrench is stripped now.
thanks for checking that for me, assuming the guy at the yard is cool about it and lets me exchange it i should have a new # on sat.
about the odometer, would i be able to set the new one to exactly waht mine says now?
