I usually get my gas at arco since its the cheapest. A friend of mine told me that arco gas isnt very good. Do you think it matters where you go?
Who has the best gas?

I always get my gas from Exxon. I have had gas that caused my car to not run right. I also try not to ever let my tank get below a quarter tank so there won't be any crap sucked up into the fuel line.

Yup....There'* the bad gas that makes your car not run right, or the bad gas that makes your cars exhaust smell like rotten eggs. I only fill at a Conoco station by my house because they have 92 Non ethanol there.

If you have a favorite gas station find out when they fill their tanks. Avoid the station on the day the tanks are filled and the next day as well. When gas is pumped into the tanks it stirs up the water and sediment in the tanks and it takes a day for all of the junk to settle to the bottom of the tank again.

I drove from New Jersey to Oklahoma City to see my family a few years ago. I stopped at some small station in Indaina for gas in my Bonneville. I noticed an immediate problem after filling up. It wouldn't accelerate right. If it got below a half tank, it would barely run at all. I limped into OKC and spent a couple days of my vacation pulling the tank and cleaning the sludge out! I was ticked. So, I only buy gas from a reputable place now. Matt

I'm not going to say you guys are wrong...since you all know me well enough to know that I haven't a clue (for the most part) what I'm talking about when it comes to cars. BUT...I was watching 20/20 tonight, and they were talking about summer myths, one of course having to do with the gas we buy. It is their belief, and the belief of NASCAR drivers and NASCAR mechanics that Premium gas doesn't do anything better for you (or actually makes your MPG worse) unless you have an engine that has to have it (I'm guessing you SSEi people fit there). They went on to discuss the branded vs. off branded gasses. These same people said that there really isn't a difference. It'* all refined in the same place, using the same methods. So, your favorite brand of gas differs from another "off brand" just because of additives. Whether those work, its anyones guess. They also mentioned years ago one company (who'* name I have since forgotten...well known company, but it'* unimportant really) claimed their additives helped with MPG and what not but the EPA said that they couldn't make such claims because of lack of scientific evidence. Needless to say, they stopped making their claimes and haven't since started back up. Take it for what its worth....
