Well this is with a combination of city and highway driving. I drive mostly city and have to drive through the city to get to the expressway to get to school 4 days per week.

Bill...That'* like Todd or I getting good MPG... I'm testing a theory that I can get high MPG as long as the tires are rotating.. so far.. I'm using lots of rubber and gas...no MPG'* though.

Guess i should start feeding my cars 87 :P

As willwren said, it'* hard to correctly get city mpg. It'* also harder because our club expands all over America where one part is 80 and loving it (shut up for those who live there) and 32 and below for several parts, ;that alone will greatly affect gas mpg and the summer/winter blend too...

Mine gets about 19 mpg in town.

I don't know why you and Rogue are even comparing yourselves, since you know very well that your non-stock gearing hurts your mileage. I don't think that information from your car or Todd'* has any bearing on the topic for that reason.

Let'* compare apples to apples the best we can, and leave the oranges for another topic so people clearly understand.

Maybe it'* time for me to tune-up and toss in some O2 sensors...... I get 28 at best on the highway and 21 on average in mixed-mode driving.

93 octane - will not improve your mileage in a NA. Neither will the 89. I've been experimenting this winter...I get the same gas mileage with the three gases when weather and driving conditions are the same.

Synthetic Oil - there'* a link somewhere on her regarding Mobile One. It will not improve mileage, however many of us swear by the stuff. Do a search for it and decide for yourself.

Using the DIC to determine gas mileage - my average shown on the DIC is actually higher than true mileage. The reason is that the "gallons used" will show only 14 gals when I use 15 gals. Other members have indicated this as well. Keep a log book in the car and calculate it mannually.

Getting over 20 mpg - there are many, many factors that could explain why you do not.
~ Maintenance on the car... old plugs &wires, clogged fuel injectors, clogged CATs, O2 sensors, etc... all have an affect upon mileage (correct me if I'm wrong Gearheads)
~ Winter gas mix - additives in the gas during cold winter months coupled with longer idel times to warm up the cars will drop mileage... for me it'* a 4-5 mpg drop between winter and summer
~ Driver habits - jackrabbit stops and starts will decrease mileage. Gradually increaseing speed from a start and letting off on the gas long before you have to stop will increase mileage. Passing people... do you do it often? Another gas sucker.

To bad I don't trust you with my car <grin>.... I would trade you for one week and see what kind of mileage I can get with yours.

When its this cold I get around 12mpg.
