That is definitely true. I remember when i had a chevy s10 blazer and I left out a spacer on the rear U joint. it came off at 70 mph and I remember that lesson very very clearly

I got them from the local Chevy dealer that I do a lot of business with. We generally get about 20% off list price on dealer parts.

Drapers in Saginaw. I just did an intake job about 3 weeks ago and got them for that price.

I'll have to keep them in mind. We bought our old 99 SE from Martin in Saginaw.

Now, I buy my gaskets from Brown and Sons in Flint. Best prices around (or so I thought). My last aluminum frame gaskets were $52.

I must really be lucky. I've bought plenty of stuff from GMPD and I've always had GREAT service from them. I see a lot of negative comments on the Full Size Chevy Trucks forum about GMPD too. BTW, I bought my lim gaskets from my local GM dealer, $54 out the door.

I believe zzp still lists them for $50 (plus shipping)

Though I got a set recently off EBAY for $32 shipped

I had good service from GMPD also. I think the way they operate may have to do with shipping delays sometimes. I don't think they stock stuff themselves. I think they are an entity that takes the order, and then finds a dealer that has the part and then brokers the deal. The dealer gets maybe a little above wholesale for the part, GMPD takes a small cut for brokering the deal and buyer gets a deal better than retail. I think they might work that way because I order some stuff from them and it was shipped to be from a dealership somewhere out east. :?
