dont try this at home
allright so the time has come to finally change my oil. i decide to use a floor jack instead of the crappy one. i put it at the bottom of the front strut and it lifts the whole car instead of just the tire(i was attempting to put blocks under em so i could safely get under there) anywho then my dad got the bright idea to drive it up onto the blocks after some persuasion i tried it...........word to the wise...dont... it kicked the blocks up and put to big ol fugly scratches on the bottom of the bumper.that sucked. first scratches IVE put on it. finally got things worked out and changed it just fine.needless to say im buying some ramps before i do that again.

Not sure about your SE, but with my SSEi, I had to be very careful which ramps I bought. The ground clearance up front under the air dam is VERY low. My normal ramps wouldn't work, and my ABS plastic Rhino Ramps barely make it. Very nice ramps though. Well worth the money.

well i saw some ramps at the auto parts store last time i was in their that looked like they were more low profile. maybe 4-5 inches at the highest point.and they were only like 25 bucks.we used to have a set of the old metal ones.but my dad was hotroddin the Ranger up onto em and it fell off and crushed one of em so needless to say we dont have those any more. and i dont think the SE goes down as low in the front as the SSEi.

My ramps scrap the front air dam all the time I use the ramps too. I now have hollowed out a spot on my driveway for just the ramps (makes the ramps lower than the ground by an inch or two) This way no more scraping!

i think next time im at the auto parts store ill ask em if i can try out their ramps.i mean they have a display so why not? if they say no. ill buy em. try em. then return em if the dont work. or i guess next time i need an oil change i could go buy em. change my oil right there in the parking lot. then take the ramps back...thats genius.

There is a notch in the body of the car, behind the front tire. tucked up under. Just jack the car up with the jack that came in the car. OR just slide under your car without the creeper, if you cant do that you need to loose some weight.

Actually, trofeo accidentally(?) made a good point. You shouldn't jack one end of the car up for an oil change. It should be as level as possible. I can reach the drain plug just laying next to the car, and I'm only 6'2". No gorilla arms or nothin'.
