Dex Flush
#11
Definitely, hold up there a second. This could just be like the stuff I have in my 89, Prestone Long Life which also happens to be dex compatible. But hey, if you have no idea, maybe you should flush it anyways, why would anyone go and put dex in there in the first place?

Lets back up a Minute here...
Is it a Pinkish Red or Orange?
Pinkish Red would be Dex.... Orange could be prestone..
But in any event, the system needs a good flush...
And Bonneville came with Green until the 1996 Model year

and here we have some DEXCOOL
and here we have some Prestone Long Life
if anyone has a good pic of the long life for color comparison, it would help
i guess you could say tho, a good rule of thumb is, the dex has more of a ...syrupy deep orange color and the extended life from prestone has more of a color of orange soda.

well i don't completely know if it is or isn't dex, I know that its some color between pink and orange, I have added green coolant to the car at some point, but recently i have just been adding water so it may have watered down the color. i'll take pics when i do this
If i had Prestone in there, if its Dex Compatible it wouldn't have mudded up would it?
or do most coolants mud up when mixed with others?
I'm thinking that since it was a company car, whenever they serviced it they did whatever GM said and just added what GM was using, possibility....

The only way this should be Dex is if ..........wait up a second. Everyone ready for another great point. It doesn't matter what is in his car. It'* turning to mud in his radiator.
Flush...flush and flush more..fill with water and run fhe car.. flush.. fllush flush.
Fill with good ole green or the anycolor stuff.
If you have problems..get it flushed.

Oh yeah, it was going to be flushed anyway, we're just ironing out some minor details, as insignificant or significant as they may be

Then in that case
A magic fairy changed your green coolant to the worst known form of Dex ever found on the planet. It'* a miracle it lasted this long.
Odd that you've got orange for sure. Got any history on the car?

Well, if he did have Dex, and then he added green to it, couldn't that be the mud problem? I thought that only Dex and Prestone LL were compatible with each other and that if you were going to use green, all of the Dex had to be flushed. Maybe he has a mix of Dex and green which is turning to mud?

That'* what I'm thinking. If you had anything red/pink/orange and added green, you could be in trouble. I know some of the orange ones state they'll mix with anything, but I ain't trusting that. (Pure paranoia, I know)
