The Debate about Overfilling a transmission? Which is true?

I'll chime in here, since I was directed to this thread due to another issue I had.
I was on a curved offramp, and coasting, and when I stepped on the gas, my tranny acted as though it was in neutral, and then it slipped back in gear.
It was suggested that maybe some of us might benefit from a slight more fluid , especially if we are on the same curved offramp, or such, every day, like I am.. I don't hot rod my car, although I hit it sometimes for a thrill. I drive like a guy who doesn't deserve a supercharger. he he . I do believe it would be a benefit to me if I added maybe a 1/4 quart, and see if the problem re-occurs, and if it does, maybe add another 1/4.
I read this entire thread, and I have learned some things. Some of you might be uncomfortable with not having exact numbers and measurements to work with, but I think we can learn a well rounded general idea from the posts here.
I'm going to check my fluid level, and if it is up to par as it was a week ago, I'm going to "assume" for the time that during turns, my fluid is shifting to one side, and starving my tranny for the moment. I think that will cause costly issues later. Let'* hope adding a bit more fluid won't.

I've seen it happen in other places, so I always try to include disclaimers when it'* a serious issue.
If I had some time to tear apart my tranny, I'd take some measurements, but sadly, I don't. :(
Does anyone know offhand if they changed dipsticks from year to year?
