Death of another 93 SLE
As i was driving, i made a turn, and my car started bumping, and a buncha wierd **** was happening, and all of a sudden a loud bang, and my tire started rolling up the road. i screwed up the quarter panel, but thats probably the least of my worries right now. it is currently awaiting an estimate from a shop in my town. if that estimate exceeds 350, then the car will be parted out for cheap prices. I am keeping the L27, and the exhaust, however, everything else will be parted out. as i am going to purchase a 92 sse from a friend that has 241k on the clock for only 600 bucks. There is also the possibility of someone paying the estimate and paying me some money as well to take the car home. tons of decisions a 17 year old has to make. kinda depressing seing my first car scrape up the back of a tow truck the way it did. that was the car i got my first speeding ticket in. ill talk to you guys in the morning or later tomorrow.

Sounds like a ball joint saying "peace out" to your car. My mom had one go and made a very loud bang as you describe, when she turned the wheel. Good thing she wasn't driving when the car finally decided to collapse!
That stinks. Sorry to hear the news.
EDIT: Was the car driving funny before it happened?

it sounds like maybe the lower controll arm broke like mine did.. but i got lucky. my wheel stady on...
If thats what happened.. $50 for the controll arm. and if the strut is bad now $80 for that....
and maybe a tie rod...
so you should be able to get it fixed it that is what happened..

yea the car was acting funny around left turns before this happened. the wheel broke off of the axle, so i probably gotta get a new one of those, and for some reason, the passenger side tire was grinding against something as well.

Wait a minute guys, he only lost the wheel itself. All these other things you're suggesting would take off suspension pieces as well.
My guess is he had a bad hub/bearing assembly, and the only reason it didn't fall off a long time ago is that it had to wear away the hub nut, which is what made the loud "bang".
If I'm right, then it'* a lot less expensive to fix, depending on what damage it suffered when it dropped.
