Curse Victim?
Not sure if I qualify. I was driving home from school the other day, thought I was going too fast, and when I went to slow down, I lost control of the car and put her in the ditch. Long story short, I moved the radiator up, fog lights and regular lights ruined, compressor bent among other things. We are going to not report it to insurance, it would be cheaper to pay for it ourselves. We'll probably just get by with the bare bones stuff, so no foglights for awhile. They never made a difference for me anyway, but I might put in aftermarket ones later in the summer or something. I also cracked the bumper in a few places, but thats easily glued back together. Total repar cost will be around $1000, half of which I have to pay for. Im pretty sad b/c I dont have my car for a few weeks, it really took the fun out of driving. Now I am alot more nervious behind the wheel. I am kinda mad too, becuase it could have been easily preventable. Stupid driving on my part. The wierd thing is that it was really close to the 1 year anniversary of my getting my license.

that really sucks. Did the cops show up at all? If so, did they do a police report? If they did- the accident will still show up on your record and will affect your insurance when they run your mvr next. I hope the cops weren't around! But most of all glad you are okay.

no cops were around, I did it in the country. My dad said I'm lucky I didnt roll the car or hit a telephone pole or something. There are places in the ditches around here where farmers get to their fields, they are like little bridges of dirt. If I would have hit one of those it probably would have flipped the car.

this just happened to a girl I go to school with. She was going way too fast on a back road (I bet probably around 70) and right after a curve on a straight away she somehow went too far to the right side, her right tires went into the snow on the side of the road (probably 5" deep) and sucked the car off the road to where it was about 2 feet deep, the front end dipped down and plowed into the snow.. and because it was slowing down so fast the rear end lifted off the ground, and the car flipped end over end, and landed on its roof about 20 feet off the road. She was absolutely in shock over what happened, I was the first car to arrive and help her out.. It was a little geo metro but surprisingly it held up good. The only thing that happaned was that the windsheild broke and the A pillars are bent down, but not too badly. IT was a brand new Geo metro, her 3rd car... she wrecked the other two (totaled in other accidents) the car was still running when I got there too! I shut it off with the key though. That had to be one scary *** ride!

The sad part about my accident was that it was on a straight road It didnt happen suddenly, I realized I had to slow down but at that point I was already hydroplaning on the ice/snow/slush mix. The car started to fishtail and I steered into the skid like I was taught to do. I probably oversteered tho, looking back. I saved the car outta the right ditch but lost it to the left b/c there was a house and trees and telephone poles on the right coming up. I made a split second decision to take the ditch rather than wrapping my car around a tree or hitting a house.
