OK DP had and still offers a custom hood option and it is basically a stock hood modified to your need by a very good body guy who is willing to do custom stuff for a reasonable price.

Carbon fiber and any other full functioning hood will be "expensive" do to the fact the number of Bonneville owners ready to buy is considerably less than the GP or honda owners for that matter. The only reason some cars even have an option is due to group purchases. I am waiting on the pillar pod and the response. Based on that the builder I work with will decide on the price of the hoods.

As you know i can go on forever so call me Im going out for Chinese and love to talk while driving.lol

Okay, so how do the keep the water on on the front facing cowls/scoops? Yeah I said scoop! I'm old! The new high-tech words just don't sound as cool! It'* a friggin hood scoop! Just like I have a wing on my trunk, not a "spoiler".

I never said I didn't know what Ram Air is. I may not know the technical definition, but in layman'* terms, you're ramming extra air into the intake of your engine. (We rednecks tend to think in simple terms)

So there! I was just talking the new terminolgy for old accessories. A "cowl" is a scoop. A "spolier" on the back is a wing. An "Air Dam" is a spoiler. And "ground affects" is a type of rice...

I am also old and grew up with pot heads and Harley riding foke and them rednecks say cowl and scoop as well. The cowl opening faces the windshield while the scoop faces out to gather "ramed air".

Both can be attached and DP has a system planned that will use a scoop or cowl you can add that looks real as well as function without all the cost or messing around.

Its always one step at a time.

So the “scoops” are coming but if you want it right you will have to wait or pay a pro to have them added. We offer that but like the springs that option was always more expensive. If you really want a hood I can have a full custom unit made out of carbon fiber or glass long before we make scoops but the cost is not for the average person. A full unit can cost from 2000-3000.00 depending on the mold requirements. Once made it is easy to redo but cost for a full hood is usually at least 700.00 depending on the company and what it is made of. With a grand total of maybe 4 serious people at this time a full hood will be a separate project. A clip on is easy and scoops are also easy and both can look equally great.

I hope this helped and I will definitely let you know when we have more than a computer mock up.
