Cost of UIM/LIM replacement...
So I finally got a new Bonne, a 99 SE. Everything seems to be okay, but first on my list is to replace the UIM/LIM and all that jazz, before another one blows on me. What'* a really ballpark price for this, I've only got about 500 to spend on repairs for now, and it also is gonna need 2 new tires pretty soon :? Somehow the whole process sounds like it would be pretty expensive...

I beleive its varies from 150 to 350 +tools to do the whole job, depending on which level of parts you wanted to go with. With the LIM theres the cheaper plastic gaskets or the aluminum framed onses (aluminum highly recommended), with the UIM theres BobDillons repaired units, the Dorman, or the APN. I beleive the APN is now the recomended unit and about $100 more than Bobs.

Get a Bob Dillon intake. Last time I only paid shipping from CA...not sure what he'* charging now. And pick up a set of aluminum frame LIM gaskets for ~$50. Some fresh coolant. Rough total...about $100 if you do it yourself. That would include a fresh coolant bypass elbow from the dealership.

You can do it all with a Dillon UIM, Buttermore stovepipe, and the GOOD aluminum gaskets from GM or INTENSE for under 200 total.
EK98 spent less than 200 the same way, and I helped him do the work.
