Clunking noise (amongst other things)
It'* me yet again. I have a 97 SSEi with 170000 on it. Let me tell you all of the things I've replaced before I explain my problem. Ok here goes. I've replaced the front and rear shocks/struts. Outer tie rod ends, front ball joints, front stabilizer links, front control arm bushings, sub-frame bushings (all six), front sway bar bushings. I had the transmission rebuilt at 162000 miles. I've replaced other things but none pertaining to this particular situation. When I put my supercharger pulley on, the engine mount near the pulleys is missing a bolt. The lower bolt closest to the front of the vehicle is the one missing. Any time I turn and accelerate I feel and hear a clunking noise through my steering wheel area. And if I attempt to floor it, it feels as though the tire is bouncing. I'm not 100 percent sure which side, but most likely the passenger side. Today I tried to punch it and got a mixture of clunking and delayed take off along with the tire bounce. I'm taking it back to the trans shop to have them check that to make sure, but I'm at a huge loss for the noises and tire bouncing other wise. I'd appreciate everyone'* input no matter what it is. I'm fairly adept at cars, especially when it comes to suspension. I've done the whole turn the wheel as far as I can to each side and drive in a circle. I heard no clicking. Again, I've pretty much rebuilt the front end (front end parts replaced less than 250 miles ago) except for the inner tie rods (which the shop claims they were good when I had it aligned) and the rack and pinion/steering gear bushings. All help is appreciated. Thanks again.
