Climate Controls confusing, no blow thru instrument panel
It'* starting to get chilly here. I've only had this '03 SLE a month and it hadn't occurred to me that I've never felt any air blowing through the dash outlets, just the defrost. So I sat there trying to make it happen. No go. Then I looked in the Owner'* Manual. It shows the expected buttons for Floor, Bi-Level, and Vent, as well as one called Defog.
My controls only have Front, Rear, Outside, Recirc, and AC - as well as Fan Hi/Lo, AUTO, and MODE. As you can see in the attached photo.
I figure the manual is for a regular SE and that the SLE'* system is more advanced.
There'* got to be a way to get heat and AC out the dash vents. Also to activate Defog mode. What is it?

Press the MODE button a few times. The display will change with the current MODE selected.
Also, each vent can be independently operated with a close or open damper. It'* the little knurled **** under each vent outlet. Try those and the MODE and see if that doesn't make things work right.

DOH! I would have sworn I checked MODE and drew a blank. Now, though, stepping through it displays and activates the various blower modes. Everything works, and I diddled the vent dampers a bit. I still don't see any symbol resembling the manual'* Defog mode. Also, how do you toggle between Driver and Passenger? Finally, what'* the expected action from AUTO? The display shows Auto-Fan but what'* that?

The Driver and Passenger controls are for heat and cooling only. To go into DEFOG, you need to press the button on the far left of your controls - it says FRONT.
AUTO will keep the preset heating and cooling that you dial in for the driver and passenger. If it'* hot out, it will add AC. If it'* cold out, it will add heat.

Thanks again! I wish my manual had this info. Meanwhile, sorry to be dense, but...
Do you mean that you can't control Floor, Bi-Level, and Vent for each seat, only the temp? When toggling through the MODES, I kept seeing Passenger on the display. Then, I must have done something (I don't know what) which switched it to Driver. I assumed this meant one could control the modes for each seat. But other than the temperature ***** I don't see how to switch between D and P.
I've done that FRONT button but I assumed it turned Defrost on and off, not DEFOG. Are there 2 settings on the FRONT button?
OK, I guess I 'get' that.

Thanks. I don't have that Defog button. See above and the picture.
>aim control is for the entire cabin area
OK, makes economic sense. But why then would I see Passenger on the Mode display?
