Damn, can you sue for rolling it back? I know it'* very illegal, so is there anythign you can do? If you ever sell it you have that helping you, but then are you breaking the law cause you know the truth now?

Well for that milage it looks great! Not that you wanna hear that. Yeah Odo'* aren't hard to roll back, or even disconnect, most are as easy as pulling the speed cable.

Hmm...Thats interesting since waaaay back in the day (probably early 80'*) odometers have had tamper indicators included. There will be white lines between the numbers that have been rolled back. There is no way around this its how they are setup. I just heard about this feature, I'm not sure it was made standard or what ever came of it or even if there are ways around it. I'm assuming that he rolled it back rather than disconnecting it because why (and how) would he admit the actual mileage? If it was disconnected it would be a guess and I would have only admitted what was actually on it. Otherwise he kept it running normal until it came time to sell it then rolled it. Another possibility, and probably a better one, is that he got a new setup from the junkyard that had low mileage on it. I guess there are a lot of possibilities but either way that sucks. Honestly you could probably go back and demand a good portion of your money back. Even though you accepted it as-is. As-is refers to "as you see it now" and he gave false information. If he says "Yeah its got a new engine. Selling it as-is" and you find out its NOT a new engine it wasen't sold rightfully as-is. Make sense? I'd think you could make a case out of it. I guess that all depends on how far you wanna go vs. how much you spent.

Compare your Vin against your engines number.

Defective part or component: FUEL:FUEL INJECTION:ELECTRICAL

Description: A BACKFIRE DURING ENGINE STARTING CAN CAUSE BREAKAGE OF THE UPPER INTAKE MANIFOLD. THIS CONDITION CAN CAUSE A NO-START CONDITION AND POSSIBLY AN ENGINE COMPARTMENT FIRE. DEALERS WILL UPDATE THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE PROGRAMMING. UNTIL THE CAMPAIGN REPAIR IS MADE, THE VEHICLE HOOD SHOULD BE SHUT WHENEVER STARTING THE VEHICLE TO REDUCE THE CHANCE OF PERSONAL INJURY.

Should probably get that done. On to the report:
Would I have to pay for this! Do you know when this recall was issued? Would the carfax had showed it this was done on my car? This is kinda scary because it has back fired a couple of times since I have owned it, about a year.

Estimated Owners: Date: Location:
1st owner 07/30/1996 Arkansas
2nd owner 01/04/2000 Arkansas
3rd owner 02/21/2002 Arkansas
I am of course the 3rd owner. Kinda nice to know it has been in AR all its life.
