Looks awesome!! I used to think I wanted to work on AutoCAD and I job shadowed someone who used it for land surveying. I still think it is one of the most impressive things you can do on a computer.

All of my design is in 3D. Every day it'* like virtual reality. I get 'lost' in the model from time to time, and need to take a break to touch bases with the real world.

Yeah that was all in 2D as you could probley tell. I am not that good with 3D on Autocad. Catia is just another cad software. But every thing you draw is 3D. Thats what daimler chrysler uses. Alot of the commands are hard to get use to. Overall I think i like it better than Autocad. I am going to school for Civil Engineering though, and i beilive that most Civil Engineering companys use Autocad like the person jeanie job shadowed.

yeah, I'm all 2D. Don't get into the 3D much at all. And, really, AutoCAD wasn't designed for any intensive 3D work. We've looked at a few other apps for that, but just don't get into it enough to justify the cost of such software.

This is what I use at work:

http://www.cocreate.com/screenshots/...r_modeling.cfm

I've used it for some car-related stuff, too. Some of which nobody here has seen yet

HP actually wrote this CAD software for UNIX (ME30) several years ago, then sold it to Co-Create.

Impressive to say the least, how long did this project take again?

Those would look great in frames. And given as a present to someone.
