change of plugs
Today after 157,000 miles, i finally changed my original plugs and wires out of my car and boy did it make a difference. Its like i have a brand new car, gas mileage went up and throttle response went up and seems like i got alittle more power. I love the bonneville even more now. I was rolling on the highway at 34 MPG today easily...

but I wouldnt change your plugs without a set of wires, if its anything like mine. I broke 3 wires right off because there were so old.

What brand of plugs and wires did you put in? I'm certainly due for wires on both of our Bonnevilles (actually my wife'* -- she has winter and summer Bonnevilles).
Bill Buttermore, in one of his recent posts, drove home the fact that you can't make any assumptions about your plug wires (or any equipment, [or procedures for that matter]) -- even brand new ones . So that'* a project on my list.
Thanks for "fessing up" with your post. We're all (at least I am) guilty of neglect here and there .

I just cant believe the difference in the car, its like i got a brand new car now. and of course seeing my miles per gallon increase to a constant 32-33mpg and sometimes 34-35 on the highway gave me a smile yesterday. i used the Irodium ac delco plugs and some bosch wires... total it ran me about 85 bucks or so. but the priceless part is removing the rear plugs... i used the method of getting some vice grips on the plug wire and taking a crow bar or long bar to get the leverage to pull the plug wires off. heres some pics
