Update on the engine.

I did the oil pressure mod. That went well, the pressure went up. however, all did not go as planned. I found flecks of metal in the oil I drained. That'* never a good sign. I put in fresh oil and a new filter. Started it up and the pressure was great. I let it run until up to temp. The pressure dropped a little. When I reved the engine it would go back up and then drop again at idle. I took it for a little drive. As long as the pressure was up everything was good. But as time went on the pressure dropped lower and lower. When I pulled away from a stop the pressure at idle would drop real low and I would get a loud grown from the engine and a lack of power. The pressure woudl climb up again and the engine would quite down and power would come back. After talking to my friend Rich, he said it sounds like a cam bearing just starting to go. It'* possible the cam I installed in spring was worn, or it'* possible I nicked a bearing while removing the old cam. Either way, I think the car is grounded.

Right now my plan is to buy a low price truck to get me threw the winter. I need a truck anyways. Then find another block to build up. I'm thinking about a L36 and drop my top end on it. This will give me higher compression with lower boost, less parasitic loss of HP by over spinning a supercharger.

Sorry to hear this Dan. I was hoping for an easy out on this for ya Buddy! But, now you've got some excuse to get that L36 lower end!
