A blown head gasket on a 3800.
No, I didnt believe it at first either, but the pics, although horrible, do seem to show it.

He says, it was overheated at some point, so I guess that would be what caused it. Still unusual though.

First his Pics suck.... Camera Phone?
Now, its unusual to burn out a set of head gaskets on a 3800... So this motor was run pretty hot at one point or another... I have seen where people did not know they were low on coolant and ran the level below the heads... After a while if you don't crack anything you will cook a head gasket that way...
I hop he will have the heads magnafluxed to check for cracks.. and have them shaved down a hair if needed...

Now, its unusual to burn out a set of head gaskets on a 3800... So this motor was run pretty hot at one point or another... I have seen where people did not know they were low on coolant and ran the level below the heads... After a while if you don't crack anything you will cook a head gasket that way...
I hop he will have the heads magnafluxed to check for cracks.. and have them shaved down a hair if needed...

That said, heat kills, and I've seen one or two blown head gaskets in 3800'*. It can happen, it'* just rare.
