Beat a truck
OOOHHH!!! OH!! Looky Looky!!!!! Post # 400. I'm sooo proud.
Today as I was getting on I-94 after work I noticed the truck in front of me (I was driving the 1994 SLE) had kicked it down and was starting to pull away. No way in hel was I going to let a diesel, much less a Ford at that, try and leave me in the dust (or snow as it was snowing pretty good). I am guessing it was a 2002 or so Ford Superduty 3/4 ton Powerstroke diesel.
When I realized he had kicked it down I immediately followed suit. It was as easy to do as I expected. That thing was actually moving along (accellerating) pretty dang quick for a truck. By the end of the ramp I had caught him, at which point we were well over the speed limit of 70. I looked at my speedo and saw I was doing about 90 and while I figure he was probably around 85 as I was starting to gain on him at a decent pace.
Anyhow, when I got out on the freeway I pulled in the left lane to pass and as I went by he gave me the thumbs up, to which I returned the the kudo'*. It'* not often around here that I can get someone to race and when someone does and is a good loser (in my mind makes them winners) it tends to make my day -ok, not quite, but it'* a plus.
Just thought I'd tell you all about one of my rare encounters.

Good sports are always the best people to race. I hate sore losers. Around here where I live we have mutual respect for one another and it'* awesome. I have a small group of people I hang with and we race and all we have is respect for one another. Like this summer I raced a 305 camaro. I knew I was gonna lose. And I did. But the guy came up to me after the race and he was like damn u surely stayed on me quite well, he only beat me by a half to one car length which was pretty good considering I was racing a camaro and it was an older style with the engine completely rebuilt. I love good sports, unfortunately the only good sports around here are the people I hang out with, most of the other people I encounter on the street are complete douchebags and are just sore losers when they lose to my car.
