Another Racoon!

Another Racoon!
Got ANOTHER one of those pesky racoons with my crossbow. Just after I finished talking with Jim on YM a few minutes ago.
Death by crossbow. My digital cam is on loan, but I'll shoot a pic when I get it back tomorrow. Heart and lungs IN THE DARK with a flashlight, crossbow, and red-dot scope. My cats and dogs will sleep AND EAT better tonight I could HEAR the blood dripping from 20 feet up in the tree. Major artery destruction, methinks. Thing never knew what hit it. The puddle on the bushes under the tree is phenomenal.
Proof that I don't miss very often (grouse by .45 neck shot, 3.5" barrel at 30' ) :
Beats the hell out of a Mustang kill any day.

Last fall, driving back from my parents, I hit a 'coon. Ripped off a leg, but the little sucker still managed to run a few hundred feet to a bridge overlooking a shallow stream. He hid behind one of the pillars.
Fearing rabies and wishing I had invested in tritium sights, I took a shot from about fifteen feet away. I thought at first I'd missed; the coon dissapeared. Then I heard some splashing.
9mm Gold Dot worked just fine.

Lick, I don't know if you call 'em that way over there, but we call the .45 Gold Dot the "flying ashtray". Those that know what it looks like from the business end will know what this means
I'll get a pic of the coon up soon. Jseabert came over this morning before school. Can't wait to hear what he thought of the puddle. I gotta get a pic and get that sucker out of the tree. It'* gonna be stinking in a couple days.
