That would be high 15 second car.

In real life on real roads, unprepped for racing, this is a tossup. what tires each car is running and skill is important.

oo. a thread for me! lol. I obviously own a 01' aurora V6. my brother owns a 00 Bonneville SLE. It is agreed by both myself and my brother that the aurora is considerably faster. It pulls much harder above 3,000 RPM and it also has a 3.27 gear ratio whereas the SLE Bonneville has the 3.06. You're not going to win against the Aurora.. Trust me on this.

The V6 Aurora weighs in a 3,686 and the SLE Bonneville weighs in at 3,675. So, they weigh about the same.

Torque Mgmt is your enemy. I believe the Aurora would take you.

Disable your TC, and do a little prep, and it might make up the difference. The comparison above to the Intrigue with the same motor was made as a comparison of a lighter car with the same motor. Must be a different ratio, or a ton of TM.

Isnt the aftermarket for the 3.5 much smaller than the L36? Even if he does have you now, you could rape him with some mods.

the only way I can see you beating him is if you have better reaction time than him when you hit it, a better launch, and you're not racing for very far at all. Once that shortstar engines gets above 4,000 RPM it'* going to start pulling on you quite hard. If it'* a short race you stand a chance. If it'* longer, say, more than 1/8 mile it'* going to start walking you.

check out this chart comparing the two engines.'

Yes. The aftermarket for the 3.5 is non-existant. Although they were often used in Dune Buggies and were rated at over 600 horsepower when they were, I do not know where you can buy any of those engine parts at.. the 3.5 if turbocharged is over 400 horsepower, but, who wants to spend 3 grand on that. not me.

The aftermarket for the 3.5L is small but I am not voiding my warrenty! (yet) I don't know his car is a bit heavier and I will have him off the line, I know I have more driver skill than him... I do see the 3.5 really pulls hard and my 3800 falls of the power band!

ask him if you can take his car for a drive.. Don't think I'm saying the Aurora is faster just because I own one either, I'm not. My brother'* SLE has the sunroof, and the other "add weight" options and I still am quite a bit faster in some *ahem* "side by side comparisons." I think if you took it for a drive you would be pretty surprised..
