Annnnd..... Rant!
Fuel mileage still sucks! There is no freaking way that this car is running so much better, and the fuel mileage is exactly the same!
Last tank: 20.2
I give up!
Come winter time, little ricer boy better watch his @$$, because by golly if this car is going to tear through gas that fast, I am going to give it a reason to tear through gas that fast!

Now I live in the country, and the route is more rural now. 50% of the commute is on interstate. Most of the rest of it is with the cruise set at 38 or 43. Only the last mile or so is city stop and go.
Suggestions have been given to reset the PCM to make it relearn the fuel trims, which I plan to do. Makes sense, it is a whole new car now and the PCM isn't always the best at sorting it all out right away.
I also have been running the A/C a lot too, which sucks A LOT of power, likely more than it should. Probably not helping.

There is no hills that can be averaged on the route. Cruise control is the lesser of evils. I have trouble maintaining a consistent speed myself.

I average right around 20 in my SSEi with about 50% highway and 50% in town 30-45 mph driving with stoplights.
Girlfriends 97 Lesabre has been getting around 20 as well, although I suspect she has a vacuum leak some where I haven't fixed yet.

its hard to compare in half and half situations. i gained the most mileage of anything when i went from my 03 monte to my 07 with the mileage display so i can see how much those things take. not a easy option for a pre obd2 car. but i can tell you a/c takes a mile or 2 over windows down most of the time. going 30-40 my car gets much less mileage than 55. setting with the engine running like at stoplights is a real big one too, i get my car washed once a week and you can watch the monitor drop quite a bit while in line and waiting for being dried, etc..

I've heard ethanol can cause havoc with fuel mileage.
