Alternator purchased Update pg 2

WoW John!! What a bargain. Bill knows the yard pretty well and I'll take his word for it that there are high mileage cars in there and wouldnt be worth it, but that was an awesome find on your part. I would have liked to get the 140 and all, but knowing my luck, things would turn to last minute and the NY trip would be out the window, so I got the 104 amp alt and its going in tomorrow. Then I can mark that off the list of things to do for the NY Trip.

I got a reman Delco 140 amp for the SSEi. Cost was just above 100 for me thru the shop my mom does books for.
LOVE it. It'* a full reman, not like the avg ones. A lot of reman parts (especially alts) are only rebuilt where something failed, not necessarily everything, and cleaned up.
This sucker was basically a cleaned up case, and brand new everything. If you're running a lot of aftermarket stuff, like an amp, etc, the 140 will also last longer then a 105, because it will be strained less.

YeahI hear what your saying Jason. Funny thing is, I was at the parts counter at AZ and the guy asked me about the SSEi. I told him what I knew so far about their reliability and what I have done to mine so far, and he said he had a friend who has a 97 (Doesnt take care of it :( ) but he drove it and liked it. wants to get one, so I gave him the BC site. Seems like a decent guy. We'll see if he shows up around here.
