What'* funny is that I just left that site after seeing what they had there, but did not contact them. I'll bet Bob is though...

So now the question I have is;
Did GM change certain types of data to "enhanced data" when they went to OBD2, that was previously available in OBD1? It would seem so.
Second question;
Will Actron support or upgrade the 9145 to access the "enhanced data".

Oh, well...at least I can read and erase trouble codes (as well as keep my papers from blowing around in a light breeze )
There are some pretty good live data parameters that the CP9145 does show:
Short and long-term fuel trims
O2 sensors
IAT temp
Coolent temp
Just doesn't have KR or Trans temp and obviously a bunch of other data....
Bottom line is, if you have a 96+ and want to see MORE data, you may want to consider a different scanner than the CP9145. I spent $199.99 for mine (minus a $20 rebate), and given what I know now, I would have spent some extra $ to get a scanner that provides more data.

Somewhere in Boosty'd PDF thread, there was a PROM upgrade for the Actron... I wonder what kind of answer I will get from them...
I would like to know if this tool is upgradable to read the enhanced data...

A quick little update on my end...Plugged the CP9145 in my car and it said it was reading 99 parameters, but of course only displays about 10-15. :?
Met up with Ben (bignews1) yesterday, plugged it into his '97 SE and got the exact same results...99 parameters, but displaying only the same 10-15 that show on mine.
Don...heard anything from Actron?

I will hang onto the tool simply for the fact that it will read the OBD1 compliant cars and trucks very well... Other than that its junk in my eyes and I will never buy another Actron scantool..
I E-Mailed them and got a response back the next day stating that the CP9145/CP9150 would not read or display enhanced data, just generic data... They pointed me in the direction of OTC...
I did not get a chance to mess with the same tool that Big News sold... But am wanting to tinker with it more when I have the time...
I think my next tool will be the same type as the unit Big news sold... Might have been an Auto X Ray if memory serves...
So if anyone wants to buy an Actron to read their perameters or display the Enhanced Data, forget Actron... Run away and go in another direction

I talked with Don offline late last week and he got an email back from Actron...
No dice on an upgrade. And no intention to provide that capability either, from what he said. :(
He'll probably verify this I guess (or shoot me down if it turns out I'm brain dead and got it wrong, lol).
It seems that when GM went to OBDII, they moved those parameters to a different/proprietary location and therefore the lower end scanners don't have the same access to the OBDII codes that they do on OBDI. Call me Captian Obvious, I guess.
EDIT: Never mind, I'm too slow in posting again...
