If I get a free day I might pull the mount and see if I can get it modified. I've got 7 days off work coming up.

Definately do it. The way I went about it was to position the jack under the motor and remove the body side mount. FSM says use a small board to distribute the load. I then leveled the motor back out and removed the three nuts and the studs. This get the bracket off while leaving the belt in place.
Keeping the studs and spacers handy on the car, go put the #9 pulley on and check distance. Keep in mind that from the factory we have enough room to sneak a belt in front of #9.

Grind your life away. I then brought it back over (once I watered it to cool) and test fit by putting it in place and barely starting the studs with spacers on them. Continue until it fits right. Then I coated the mount with about 5-10 coats of paint to ensure a good barrier against rust.

I didn't actually remind you of the two 15mm bolts you have to loosen from the wheel well to get the body side mount out.

Yep, I know about those. I already loosened those a while back.
