UPS did well. Remember to check oil in SC. I didn't.
On licensing. If you went full year, then you could use any of the L67 files I linked you to. If you go just yours..then I can maybe take a L36 file and toss your vin on it. ...actually I should be able to do that with HPT since I have all of 97 unlocked. =0) What you can't do is toss your vin on an L67 file if you use HPT.
Do you have to have your vin match for emissions? If you don't get emissions..then you are golden.

Sure did. But just to be a good boy, I sucked out whatever I could and put in Mobile 1 5w30 Synthetic.
Which reminds me. This was the first time I ever smelled supercharger oil. It smells just like the oil we put in the GE-T700 turbine engines. First whiff of that stuff and it gave me flashbacks of the Army.

Last night around 6pm or so, I had the engine 99% in. Only had a couple things to connect and connect the flywheel to the torque converter. And wouldn't you know it. Damn flywheel bolt holes do not line up! Rich and I had the same problem last year with his Buick. Grrrr. DISCONNECT everything, pull the engine out about 2 feet, remove the fly wheel, take the one of my other engine, install, drop it back in and reconnect everything.
That only took about 39 minutes to do. Nice to have a second pair of mechanical hands.
Had some issues with connecting the fuel lines. But, with some "redneck" work, I got those fixed this morning. We ran it using the stock L36 pcm and it doesn't seem to like it too well. It DOES run rich!
Just for ***** and giggles, I grabbed a PCM I had from Rich'* old 1996 L67 Buick, stuck it in, fired it up and it purred like a kitten. Even the check engine light stayed off! Huh?! Weird.
Anyway, got everything buttoned back up, hood back on, and most tools put away today.
Here'* a short clip of it running.

So tonight, I finally conned my wife into taking my car out for a test drive with the new engine. You should have seen the look on her face when she romped on it and broke those wheels loose. She actually let go of the wheel with both hands and covered her mouth while saying OMG!
Then she'* like, is that the whine I keep hearing you talk about? I was like, yup!
I'm surprised she didn't say that we were trading vehicles. Thank god!

Yes, its installed and running with no issues besides me having to use a 1996 Park Ave Ultra L67 PCM. That is, until Hptuners sends me an update for my 97 L36 PCM so I can retune it with a L67 file. The 96 PCM isn't really compatible with my car. There are a couple things it can't see, 1. Fuel Gauge, and 2. the sensor on the fuel tank.
Other than that, it runs fine.
Yesterday, I noticed the Goodyear Blimp hovering overhead while I was driving around town enjoying the new profound energry. At one corner, I could have sworn I seen Sunoco cheering me on!
I forgot to mention, the stock 4T60-E is no longer installed. I swapped that out with a Buick PA Ultra 4T60-E-HD, with the half-shafts.
