Good news.
Ok, I remedied the exhaust situation. This thing just all of a sudden turned into an amusement park ride the way it drives. Don't ask what I did. Its classified.
BAD news.
And its bad. For some reason, the oil pressure went from like 40 psi down to 10 psi at 1000rpm, and at idle the light came on.
I removed the oil pressure sensor and rigged up a way to connect my air hose to it and test it. I set my regulator for about 40psi and turned the power on and it worked fine and its not spitting oil out of the connector side like they usually do.
Right now, I'm speculating something with the oil pump. Next weekend I'll TRY and drop the front axle and the oil pan.

Nope. No way in hell I'm going to be able to drop that oil pan with the front diff and that steering linkage in the way. I don't see the point in doing ALL that work, just to find out that I will have to pull it anyway. Heck, Ive even seen some places recommending pulling the 4.3'* just to drop the pan.

when i had to change my gasket i had to drop the diff/axle unit to get it off and change the trans lines. which doest seem that bad till you go to put the stupid thing back. 2wd trucks have the cross-member and you have to lift the engine up quite a bit and its still a pain

Yup, it was one of those Autozone small rags.
What I'm trying to figure out is, how did it end up in there to begin with?
Well, mistakes happen. In this case, there is actually a medical term for it...

I'm off to Autozone this morning to get all NEW oil and filter to put back in. The $50 synthetic that only had a couple miles on it is wasted.
