Tech Bulletin Update: New Supercharger Oil
Ok ok ok... i may not hold high ranking here but I was on a delivery to the local Pontiac Dealership and while there i was looking for some supercharger oil... figured since the chevy dealership where i work didnt have it the pontiac dealership might... but no... but i was shown something that i wouldnt believe unless i sawed it with my own 2 eyeballs...
there was a service bulletin issued to dealerships only... not listed for personal use... that since the lil 4oz bottles are like 10 dollars a peice list... cost the dealership 6.50 a piece and have to be ordered in a case of 12... they listed a replacement option to save on having to order a case for 1 bottle (useful for dealerships that dont sell it very often)...
the GM Replacement oil is... none other than... the one... the only...
MOBIL 1 SYNTHETIC 5 w 30
i know its odd... but the oil is actually the same viscosity so they tested it and listed it as a dealership replacement in lue of ordering a case... just a note for those that are interested...
ps... ima talk to the boss when he gets back from lunch see if i can get a copy and upload the tech bulletin for all to peep at... so theres no saying im full of bs and whatnot

as does alot of the performance stores that deal with eaton superchargers... but according to the bulletin the fluids are the same so why order it?
not trying to cut the fluid down and certainly not saying to use something else... just spreading info to my fellow eatonites lol

of course its not the same... but its suppose to work the same... i have the papers, will scan later and post them but due to the viscosity, its recommended for dealerships to use instead if they dont have any gm sc oil

Ok... so to make it known that i was not just joshin people lol ... Heres cell pictures of the papers... gotta remember to take em to the lil ladies house to scan them but heres basic pics for reference
NOW... for the "Captain Obvious" people it states for 92-93 gm cars, but the manager has been at the same dealership since the late 80s and told me he hasnt heard of anything for the later models other than this and when he consulted gm about it they told him that it will act the same for the m90 superchargers as well so hes been using mobil1 sys 5w30 in all the superchargers they service since. He also stated this was the only tech bulletin for the oil and since they havent changed their minds, hes staying with it as if its current information
if you notice tho, on page 2 (first pic) it states Parts Information: GMCL dealers use 5w30 synthetic oil (e.g. Mobil 1) NAES dealers use 12345982 (4oz/1 20ml container of synthetic oil)
