I want to add something to jwikoff99'* test, pull the bottom vaccum line like he said and pull it off on the actuator side and plug it with a golf tee or something similar, to my knowledge you can run the car like this until you get a new sylenoid.

I was driving home last night and noticed that my car seemed like it had lost power I looked down at the boost and it was just barley above -10 and even on the highway coming home I couldn't get it in to the positive side. I got home and opened the hood and the belt was still connected and turning. when the car idles it sits at -10 when I step on the gas it starts to climb a little then drops back down to -10. I am going to try the test mentioned above tomorrow in the daylight and see if maybe a vacuum hose came off but from what I have already been reading I am leaning towards the boost control solenoid(never seems to be the simple fix).

According to your gauge you are still getting vacuum, check the lines going to the BCS and you can't believe how easy a BCS swap out is. If it takes you 3 full minutes you drank more than 2 beers during the project.

Hey Hawkman, word on the street is, you printed out this thread and took it to the dealership. Good man. Danny Allen (tech at the dealership) is a friend of my father-in-law. He put two and two together when he saw my last name in my screen name.

I didn't hear if you got the right part, though. How'd it go? Dealerships need a lecture on the realities of superchargers.

Yes, I called Dan the service manager and offered to let him read the feedback from the list, as I thought some of the suggestions may give his " Lead Mechanic " some understanding as to what is going on. Especially when I asked his LM last week how many Superchargers he has worked on in his 9 years at this dealership, and recieved a reply of maybe 2 or 3. Dan called me within 3 minutes of the fax and started yelling at me, ........saying that he did not need to read this crap of a bunch of people that think they are experts, telling me that he ripped me off and that everybody on the list could fix my problem for $20. I've been in management for 20 years and believe me, ........... Dan does not function well under pressure! If I were the General Manager of that dealership, O Danny boy would be gone. Mgmt. 101 teaches that no matter what comes across your table, you " calmly " evaluate it, descern what is real and what is B.*. and then plan out how best to deal with the problem. Anyway, ... he said they were working with GM and that they would get back to me within an hour with an answer to fix my car. Today has been 3 days and I haven't heard a peep! I have since ordered the bypass valve from my GM dealer here in Monmouth. I got the part today but my daughter has the car, so I probably won't get to put it on until monday. I will report the outcome as soon as I find out. God bless and Long Live the LIST!!!!

A dealership has a responsibility to the customer. In the case of your car, they should NOT have charged you considering they didn't fix the problem. That'* dirty, and I hope the mangaer reads this. If you don't know what'* wrong, you ASK. Get the information to answer your question from whatever source you can. If you don't, you're a pinhead. Period. And you'll never learn anything.

I'd like to go head-to-head on Superchargers in GM vehicles with any mechanic or manager at that dealership. But my gut tells me their mechanics are humble enough to know better, and would be open to my advice.

It'* very difficult to troubleshoot problems from hundreds or thousands of miles away, but yours is a clear-cut 95% chance for a Boost Control Solonoid, and I NEVER would have diagnosed it as a bad Actuator. I've only seen 2 go bad on an Eaton SC EVER, and I have one here from LakevilleSSEi for Autopsy.

exactly same symptom than me, and it was boost control solenoid, but i think they got me, the dealer charged me 200$ for that ...grrrr

next time ill go, ill tell them what i think.

Hmm, sorry to hear that about Dan. I know he may have dealt with a lot of cars for many years, but Galesburg and surrounding areas isn't exactly prime "supercharged engine" area. That'* why I haven't been to a dealership for any forced induction problem since Lindsey'* (what it was before it was Black'*, before it was Giardina'*) counter guy told me the supercharger ran off engine oil after I told him I just read on the internet somewhere they had their own oil.

no luck on fixing my problem so I am just going to take it to the dealer I hope I have better luck then you did, might as well use my warranty
