I really think it was a heat issue man, not flames. The cat looks a little blued, but I am sure there isnt any flames past that, and they certainly couldnt get by the mufflers. Candy Paint is alot softer than OEM as well. I do wonder about running the nitrous in a V8 without true dual exhaust and single cat, in regards to exhaust valves. But they say the unburned nitrogen has a cooling/dampening effect. So who knows. Pretty sure the paint peeled above the tips on a particular extended run on the highway when I was playing around. I have a control box that allows me TPS activation, or manual activation whenever, as well as full purge and machine gun purge. I was cruising at half throttle at pretty good clip and hit the manual activation and just.sailed, shutting the nitrous down way before I throttled back. I have since seen an import (forget the make) with chrome eyebrows above the exhaust tips. I hope to get my Custom Shop to cover the damage with some thing like that.

Nitrous is only safe if a few certain conditions are met, And nothing goes wrong. If it'* your daily driver and you have to worry about folding up your engine, I wouldn't do it. My GXP is a toy and I can get by without it until another engine is put in. But so far, so good.
