1993 Supercharger Noisy

Just incase.... if the site you found is selling Flowz rebuilds don't get one. It sounds more like an actuall GM replacement SC then you're probably ok. It will take a couple hours to swap out the SC'*.
Personally, I still recommend doing a coupler swap. The gears and the rest of the SC'* interanls will most likely outlast your engine (and a couple trannies). If you do the just the coupler now you won't have to think about it again until about 250,000 miles on the odometer. The ZZP coupler is supposed to be better than the stock one and last alot longer too.

Sounds like my best course of action would be to check the coupler first. You told me the following: "Here is an easy way to test to see if the coupler is going. Pull the belt off the supercharger pulley so you can spin it freely. Then try to spin it. What you are looking for is play between the pulley and the gears inside. If it is there you will feel it."
So if there is play between the pulley and the gears inside I need a new coupler. Correct?
If I need a new coupler, you are recommending that I don't replace the nosecone since the noise would be from the coupler and I really don't need a new entire SC or a nosecone? Correct?
Seems that this repair (coupler only) would only be a couple hundred dollars for labor and material. Anything else I should have done while they have the nosecone off to put on a new coupler (like a water pump or something???).

About the only other thing you can do at that time (besides replaceing the gaskets and o-rings) is upgrade your pulley. You have a 2.5? pulley stock. You could get a 2.2 or 2.3 pulley on your superharger to give it a little more umph. Pulleys run around $100 a piece and (with the nose cone off) shoule be able to be installed in under 30 minutes. Other than that there isn't a whole lot more that is opened up to with the SC off.

Here you can buy the supercharger for about 450plus shipping:

Not a bad price.
My supercharger is also acting up. Driving around real slow is fine, but when you hit the gas and the boost kicks in, the car will choke. Is that the coupler problem as well?
And is that coupler on that site for the M62 eaton? (92-93 supercharger)? The one they show on the site is for the M90 (1997 and up). Or are they interchangeable?

1) the coupler on ZZP'* site fits both the M62 AND M90 SC'*.
2) Don't put a 94/95 SC on a 92/93 car. They will bolt up but there is a differene. The one I know of for sure it the pulley size. 94/94 has a larger pulley and will give you less power (although a pulley swap is possible).

What does your boost gauge read? how does it act? engine stumbles? or just no power?
The coupler doesn't really effect performance at all. Once the slack in the coupler is taken up the SC runs fine, hence the noise goes away.
My guess is you may have a stuck selenoid, leaky intake, or something else. Give us some more detail and we will do our best to help you figure it out.

What happens is the when I hit boost past the halfway mark, the car will just make a clogging noise and the boost won't kick in. Sounds as if the car is about to shut down or die.
Well, the cars been sitting for about a year or two, so maybe somethings clogged?
supercharger oil does leak alittle bit.

Well, if the car has been sitting that long it could be a couple things.
1) check the air intake, filter, etc... and make sure there is nothing obstucting in there and the filter is clean
2) make sure the exahust isn't plugged up (something made a home up in it?)
3) what year and trim line is it? (ex: 1993 ssei)
4) you say a clogging noise? is there any way to get video and/or audio of this?
5) are you sure it is related to boost, and not RPM? (there are a few things that are RPM based that do seem boost related at times)
6) any SES lights or anything else out of the ordinary?
7) you may want to check your electrical too. ould be coil packs, plugs, or wires causing it as well. If there not up to par they can cause wierd things under heavier acceleration.
